Wilfred Ndidi explains why Leicester don't miss Manchester United captain Harry Maguire

Leicester star Wilfred Ndidi says his side aren't missing Harry Maguire since he moved to Manchester United last summer.

United completed the £80million signing of Maguire from Leicester last August when he signed a six-year  contract  with the option of an additional year to replace Virgil van Dijk as world football's most expensive defender.

The England international has shone upon his arrival at Old Trafford and has already been appointed as the new club captain following Ashley Young's departure in the January transfer window.

However, despite losing such a key figure it hasn't stopped Leicester from exceeding expectations themselves this season under Brendan Rodgers.

Prior to football's suspension last month, Leicester found themselves third in the Premier League and awaiting an FA Cup quarter-final encounter against Chelsea.

In fact, despite losing Maguire last summer only Liverpool and Sheffield United have conceded fewer goals than the Foxes so far in the league this season.

When asked why Leicester don't seem to be missing Maguire, former teammate Ndidi revealed it is because of Rodgers' approach to building a team as a collective.

"It is the Brendan Rodgers effect," Ndidi told  ESPN journalist Colin Udoh in an Instagram conversation.

"It's not just about the eleven players that play, the players on the bench, even the U23 players, he carries everybody along, so there is always space for anybody to fill in.

"He's the kind of coach that believes in the squad, not just focusing on one player, the squad comes first."
