A world-renowned exbhition makes its return to Bristol this week.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year, which is on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, showcases exceptional images of animal behaviour, spectacular species, and the diversity of the natural world.

The exhibition will run from Saturday (November 27) until June 5, 2022 with tickets now on sale on the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery website.

Due to Covid-19 safety measures, pre-booking a time slot is highly recommended to guarantee entry.

Councillor Craig Cheney, Deputy Mayor of Bristol with the responsibility for culture, said: "I’m delighted to see Wildlife Photographer of the Year return to Bristol.

"From curious underwater creatures to majestic soaring birds, the exhibition ignites curiosity about the natural world and highlights the fragility of wildlife on our planet.

"Exhibitions like this can be a crucial tool in helping us gain a deeper understanding of the issues facing nature and the actions we need to take to protect it."

Cheney also thanked Precision Resources Group (PRG) and the University of the West of England (UWE), who will both be sponsoring the event, as well as Bristol City Council's culture team who have worked towards the success of the exhibition.

Director of the Natural History Museum, Dr Doug Gurr, added: "These extraordinary images showcase the rich diversity of life on Earth and spark curiosity and wonder.

"Telling the story of a planet under pressure, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition illuminates the urgent challenges we face and the collective action we need to take. This year’s inspiring exhibition will move and empower audiences to advocate for the natural world.”

As well as the exhibition, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Portfolio 31, which is edited by Rosamund Kidman-Cox with a foreword by Chris Packham, will be on sale from the M Shed shop and online.

Tickets for the exhibition are priced at £7 for adults and £5 for concessions while under 16s go free. Half price entry is available for 16-24 year-olds and ticket prices include a £1 voluntary donation to Bristol Museums Development Trust.
