For the northern hemisphere February signals the start of lighter days and possibly milder weather. For the southern hemisphere the last weeks of summer will be treasured before the beckoning autumn months. So what sort of wildlife will we all discover on our doorsteps? We’d love to see your photos of the February wildlife near you.

Share your photos and videos with us via GuardianWitness, and we’ll feature our favourites on the Guardian site.

You can share your photos, videos and stories with us by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ buttons. Or if you’re out and about you can download the GuardianWitness app or look for our assignments in the new Guardian app.

Here are some of the contributions so far:

Ducks on our doorstep at The Vines Resort in Western Australia. They hopped out of the swimming pool for a feed at our front door. Taken with an IPhone.

a lovely late winter day with the subtle glow of the afternoon sun in Bushy Park, the second largest of London's Royal parks

A Sulphur Crested Cockatoo takes me in. Pic taken on a regular walk in Tasmanian bushland.
