You can find our Wildgate Prospectors tier list in the table below. Generally, Sal and Ion are the best Prospectors, and not having them on your squad is considered griefing. Adrian and Venture, on the other hand, are just plain bad and can't carry their weight as much as other characters. Before you check out the ranking explanations, here is what each tier means:
- S Tier: The best Prospectors in Wildgate. Not having at least one of each on your squad will make your runs significantly harder.
- A Tier: Excellent Prospectors that will fill the rest of your 4-man squad together with the S-tier ones.
- B Tier: The worst Prospectors in Wildgate. They can work in PvE, but if you want to win in PvP consistently, using them will make your squad less competitive.

Sal is the Swiss knife of Wildgate. He is the best ship-fixer in the game with his Multitool bounce passive. Plus, the extra items you get with his Salvage passive can easily clutch you the run. He is literally indispensable. |

Mophs is a stealthy assassin/thief that can be both broken and useless, and it largely depends on how you play him. He can work both as a boarder and a defender, as his stealth allows you to cheese unsuspecting enemies. |

Sammo is one of the best defenders in Wildgate. He fully heals when blasting an enemy and also gains 20m of X-ray vision while on your ship. He isn't as OP as Ion, but having him can help you a lot on defense. | |
 Kae |
Kae can interact with objects that are up to 10m away and also teleport up to 100m. Her mobility is extremely good, and she is just a better thief than Mophs. However, her combat potential is a bit worse. | |

 Venture |
Venture is by far the best beginner Prospector in Wildgate but also one of the worst ones for competitive play. He doesn't require Oxygen, regenerates HP faster, and also gets an alert when an enemy is behind him. He is a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. |

Adrian is arguably the worst Prospector in Wildgate right now. His mobility can't compare to the utility Mophs and Kae have, and there is very little reason to use him. |
