Sept. 09--Firefighters continued an aggressive attack Wednesday on a wildfire burning above the Yosemite Valley that has grown to 500 acres.
The Tenaya fire was spotted Monday night in the Indian Canyon area above the north rim of Yosemite Valley, prompting the closure of all trails in the area, according to Yosemite National Park officials.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, which sent a plume of smoke over the Yosemite Valley. The blaze is not threatening any structures. No injuries have been reported, park officials said.
Flames spread Tuesday, sending embers toward dead trees, park officials said. At least 40 firefighters tackled flames as four air tankers and two helicopters worked to douse the fire.
Thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail were possible Wednesday for parts Yosemite National Park to the Tulare County mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
The extreme weather conditions could continue Thursday to Sunday afternoon.

All trails on the north rim of Yosemite Valley are closed from south of Tioga Road and east of Yosemite Creek.
