Wildcat Law offered fine over NBL headbutt

Perth Wildcats NBL import Vic Law has been fined $1000 for headbutting Brisbane's Deng Deng. (AAP)

Perth Wildcats import Vic Law can escape a one-game NBL suspension if he pleads guilty to a charge of headbutting.

Law was involved in an incident with Brisbane's Deng Deng during a heated clash between the two teams on Friday night.

The pumped-up pair came together and Law leant into Deng, who drew the ire of the Perth crowd for his delayed reaction to the light contact.

Deng dropped to the floor, leaving Wildcats fans incensed after they saw replays on the big screen.

Both players received technical fouls.

Law was allowed to play in Sunday's game against Tasmania while the league assessed footage of the incident.

On Sunday, the league announced it deemed Law's action worthy of a one-game ban.

However, the penalty can be reduced to a $1000 fine if Law pleads guilty to headbutting.

The American forward has three days to decide whether to accept the charge.

If he challenges and gets suspended, Law will miss the away clash with Adelaide on December 28.

The Wildcats and Bullets are due to meet again in Brisbane on January 1.
