The Green Bay Packers have finally made a stop in the red zone, but it took a wild two-down sequence on Sunday to end the streak.
Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke appeared to run into the end zone on third down for the touchdown, but the play was reviewed and Heinicke was ruled down at the 1-yard line because he dove headfirst and ended up short of the goal line. A play later, the Packers stuffed Heinicke on a quarterback sneak on fourth down that was eventually challenged by Washington coach Ron Rivera but upheld on review.
And just like that, the Packers’ run of ineptitude in the red zone came to an end.
The stop was the Packers’ first in the red zone since the first quarter of the team’s divisional round win over the Rams. And it snapped a streak of 19 straight touchdowns allowed in the red zone, including 15 straight to start the season.

Heinicke could have run into the end zone on third down, but his dive negated the touchdown. The Packers took advantage a play later and finally got off the field.
