Wild Mountain Thyme: Dublin Airport's brilliant reaction as Ireland loses the plot over ridiculous 'Irish' accents

Dublin Airport's social media is known for its witty quips and brilliant comebacks and rightly so, because they're feckin' hilarious.

Irish Twitter has been losing the plot over a new movie, believed to be based in Mayo or Timbuktu for all we know, called Wild Mountain Thyme. Bejaysus, begorah, it has to be seen to be believed.

It stars Christopher Walken, Emily Blunt and Jon Hamm - and their Irish accents - and actual Irish actor, Belfast's Jamie Dornan.

And upon viewing it, Dublin Airport had some very choice words for what they were watching. Even Jamie Dornan, the actual Irish actor, managed to crucify his "Whhhestt" accent.

They said: "There’s fashion police. Grammar police. We even have airport police. Is there such a thing as accent police? If so, somebody better call ‘em. On the upside, Ireland looks nice."

And in true Irish fashion, the trailer of the film began to spread like wildfire. So much so that Dublin Airport continued: "So Tom Cruise, Jaysus, Darby O’Gill & Oirish all seem to be trending. What could possibly be the link?"

And their response descended into a hilarious thread of reactions as even the Leprechaun museum disowned the flick, commenting: "Even we think this is a bit much."

There's mass confusion over whether the movie is set in 1920, 2020 or somewhere in between.

Maybe it's a different universe where Ireland is some distinctly weird and wonderful land that time can never define.

One thing is for sure, the movie looks absolutely...well, you'll have to come to your own conclusion on that.
