'Wild' Majella O'Donnell grilled on sex life with husband Daniel on Angela Scanlon's Ask Me Anything

Majella O’Donnell, wife of beloved Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell, was grilled about her marital sex life while on Angela Scanlon’s Ask Me Anything.

Appearing on the first episode of the brand new show, Majella, who appeared alongside Keith Duffy and Jarlath Regan, discussed growing up in Thurles, her tattoos and keeping the romance alive with Daniel.

The 63-year-old took host Angela by surprise, however, when she also opened up about “sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll”.

Beginning the interview, Scanlon asked: “Right, where will we start? I’m going to give you a choice okay? Sex, drugs or rock ‘n’ roll?”

Majella replied: “Don’t be bold now,” before Angela asked her to pick a topic.

“I think I’ll go with the sex,” she said with the audience cheering, to which Angela replied after a short pause: “Go on, then.”

Majella asked: “What do you want to know darling?”

“I think lots of people want to know,” Angela told her. “How is it?”

“Jesus, what is she like? It’s grand,” Majella said while laughing.

The conversation continued with Majella opening up about a “rebellious streak” she had when she moved from her native Thurles to London when she turned 18.

She said: “I was a free spirit but had a very strict father so I could do nothing. But once I left school, I was an adult and could do anything.

“It’s like when you’re 17, you’re a child, you can’t go to the disco and be home at 12am but when you’re 18 you’ve left school, you fend for yourself off you go.”

Majella then revealed that she was pro-legalising cannabis, or “wacky tobaccy” as she called it.

Angela said: “You were a little bit wild, no? I was surprised to read that Majella loved a bit of the wacky tobaccy. Your words, not mine!”

“I think we all had a go at the old wacky tobaccy. You’re really getting an exclusive here tonight,” Majella said.

“I’m definitely one for legalising it. It’s great for making you zen. It makes the music sound better.”

She then added that she loved the music of reggae legend Bob Marley before breaking out into a rendition of No Woman No Cry.
