The 12 footballers who made global headlines after being trapped in Tham Luang cave have returned to training.
The members of the Wild Boars (Moo Paa) Academy club returned to football practice on Thursday at Mae Sai Prasitsart School in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai, the public relations office of the province said on its Facebook page.
It was the first training session since the youngsters and their coach, Ekkapol Chanthawong, were rescued from the cave in July. The team was marooned inside the cave for almost two weeks after floodwaters trapped them when they visited after a practice session on June 23.
The coach also rejoined them for the workout, saying the club trusted him to continue in the role.
Mr Ekkapol left Wat Phra That Doi Wao in Mae Sai on Sept 8, after entering the monkhood on July 24 to show his appreciation to all the rescuers who had saved their lives -- including Saman Kunan, a former Navy Seal diver who died during the operation.
The boys returned to their schools on Aug 6 and attended a gala dinner at the Royal Plaza in Bangkok on Sept 6 to thank all the local and international rescue volunteers.
