Wild bear falls out of residential tree after being shot with tranquilliser gun

wild black bear that climbed into a tree in a residential area was tranquillised by authorities and taken back to the wild.

The creature wandered into Grand RapidsMichigan and spent hours in the branches of the tree in the residential area.

Officials told news channel WOOD-TV that they estimated that the creature was close to two years of age and weighed approximately 125lbs.

A state biologist tranquilised the bear, which was then seen falling limply from the tree.

Fire crew reached the bear with the help of a ladder in order to push the tranquilised animal out of the tree with the aid of a rope.

“It kind of fell, but it landed in real wet dirt, so the bear should be fine,” said John Niewoonder of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

He added: "They're not really much of a risk. Bears, black bears, they don’t want to mess with people. They very rarely attack people unless they’re cornered, or unless people are doing dumb things like feeding them."
