Wigan Warriors transfer rumour killer after NRL prop speculation

Wigan Warriors will not be signing Renouf Atoni.

Reports in Australia emerged earlier this week linking the Warriors with a move for the Canterbury Bulldogs ace, who is off-contract at the end of the season.

The Mole claimed Atoni had been offered a big deal to sign for the Warriors, with the offer on the table one that the Bulldogs would be unable to compete with.

However, sources at the DW Stadium confirmed that Atoni was not on their radar and would not be joining the club.

It's no secret that Kris Radlinski is working tirelessly to enhance the squad, with a new overseas forward on the club's radar.

The club has yet to replace George Burgess and they have the salary cap space to make a significant signing.

As of yet, that has not come to fruition, but the Warriors are thought to be working hard to secure new reinforcements.

Domestically, they have signed Iain Thornley from Leigh Centurions and Lebanon international Abbas Miski, who has impressed in the Championship for London Broncos.

Nathan Mason was another target though that move appears to have stalled in recent weeks.

Recruitment is expected to be lively at the Warriors in the coming months, with a forward and a halfback thought to be among the top priorities.
