Wigan Warriors show their class as Wakefield Trinity star reveals special gift on milestone game

Wigan Warriors proved they were all class as they acknowledged Reece Lyne's 200th Wakefield appearance on Friday night.

The Trinity centre was making a milestone appearance for the club at the DW Stadium on Friday night, though it didn't go to plan as Wigan secured a 25-12 victory.

But despite being rivals on the night, the Warriors showed a true sign of sportsmanship as they congratulated their opponent on a big night.

The Warriors gifted Lyne a bottle of single malt scotch whiskey following the game as an acknowledgement of Lyne's big day.

He took to Twitter to express his gratitude towards Wigan's generosity.

He tweeted "Proud to reach the 200 milestone tonight @WTrinityR L disappointing result but a Big thanks to @WiganWarriorsRL for the gift classy touch and club," with a picture of the bottle attached.

Wigan fans subsequently replied by congratulating Lyne in what was a lovely touch following the game.

Supporters went on to praise Wigan for the gesture, in what was the latest demonstration of the club's class.
