Wigan Warriors set to welcome three key men back for Salford Red Devils task

Jai Field could make his long-awaited Wigan Warriors comeback this Friday after being named in Adrian Lam's squad to face Salford Red Devils.

Field suffered a serious hamstring tear minutes into his Wigan debut on the opening weekend of the season, and has not featured for the Warriors since that game against Leigh Centurions.

However, he could now make his return this weekend after Lam included the Australian in his 21-man squad for the game against Richard Marshall's side, as Wigan look to cement their position inside the Super League play-off places.

The return of Field could free up Jackson Hastings to move back into the halves, but Field's utility value could mean he is the one who plays half-back in place of Tommy Leuluai, who drops out with a hamstring injury. Lam, however, suddenly has much more depth at his disposal with Field not the only returnee.

Zak Hardaker returns from a neck injury, while Morgan Smithies and Ethan Havard have also overcome injury setbacks to return to Lam's squad. Liam Marshall is also back in contention having missed out against Leigh due to a head knock.

Brad Singleton and Oliver Partington drop out due to suspensions following their part in the mass brawl against Leigh last weekend.

Wigan 21-man squad: Zak Hardaker, Oliver Gildart, Liam Marshall, Jai Field, Sam Powell, Joe Bullock, Willie Isa, John Bateman, Morgan Smithies, Tony Clubb, Liam Byrne, Harry Smith, Ethan Havard, Jake Bibby, Mitch Clark, Joe Shorrocks, Kai Pearce-Paul, Sam Halsall, Umyla Hanley, Jackson Hastings, Amir Bourouh.
