Wigan Warriors player ratings with Zak Hardaker among better performers in Warrington Wolves defeat

Zak Hardaker - 7: Solid throughout the game as he was left to defuse numerous high kicks.

Liam Marshall - 6: Did his fair share of carries and performed the defensive duties he needed to.

Liam Farrell - 6: A late move to centre after Oliver Gildart's late withdrawal. Was competent on the day. Performed his defensive duties excellently but doesn't have the same offensive impact in this position.

Jake Bibby - 6: Like a lot of others, got through the work he needed to in this attritional game.

Sam Halsall - 5: Harsh in a way because the first try was rotten luck and not his fault. But was put down the wing a few times and didn't look like he backed himself.

Jackson Hastings - 7: Good defensive and kicking performance, constantly landing balls in the corner. It appeared to be the game plan so Wigan's general lack of creativity can't really be put on him.

Harry Smith - 6: Ran at the line a few times but was defended well. Left most of the kicking to Hastings. Good tackle to deny Jack Hughes late on.

Brad Singleton - 7: The leader of the pack and worked very hard for his team all afternoon.

Joe Shorrocks - 7: Impressed through his sheer workload. Gets through so much for his team and defends well in the role.

Oliver Partington - 7: In one of the most physical games we've seen this season, Partington was an instigator frequently. He went looking for collisions that could help his side.

John Bateman - 6: A bit hit and miss here. A few handling errors but never shied away from the action and tried to ask questions with the ball in hand, something Wigan lacked generally. A tackling machine, too.

Kai Pearce-Paul - 6: Produced a few offloads here and there but struggled to trouble Warrington generally.

Morgan Smithies - 7: Shame an injury shortened his time on the field. He was fantastic when on, playing with controlled aggression on both sides of the game.

Joe Bullock - 6: Carried hard off the bench and played his part in the battle.

Liam Byrne - 6: Solid enough for the most part.

Sam Powell - 7: Nice return to the side and a lovely pass for Ethan Havard's try.

Ethan Havard - 7: Speaking of him. Another who came back and performed well. Lovely run for his try that brought Wigan back into it.
