Wigan Warriors player ratings as Jackson Hastings stands out against battling York City Knights

Zak Hardaker : The full-back got the scoreboard ticking over with a smart finish in the first half and looked a constant threat throughout as he took on the line. 8

Umyla Hanley: His confidence looked shot at one point after dropping the ball on a couple of occasions, but he kept his composure for his first try for the club in the second half. 6

Sam Halsall: The youngster took his chance to impress in the centres and touched down in the first half. 7

Willie Isa: Made the hard yards and made himself felt defensively. 7

Jake Bibby: A quiet game for the in-form winger. He made plenty of metres but he couldn’t find an opportunity to add to his tally. 6

Harry Smith : The young half-back certainly doesn’t lack confidence. He didn’t put a foot wrong with or without the ball. 7

Jackson Hastings (star man) : As Wigan took control of the game late in the first half, it was Hastings pulling the strings. The half-back’s influence grew as the game went on. 8

Brad Singleton: Engaged in a real battle opposite his former Leeds teammate Adam Cuthbertson but came out on top. 7

Sam Powell: The hooker kept himself busy before being withdrawn for a rare rest in the second half. 7

Joe Bullock : The powerhouse prop consistently dented York with the ball in hand and his aggression in defence was key. 7

John Bateman: So strong defensively, his line speed and attitude without the ball was a joy to watch. 7

Morgan Smithies : Saw a try ruled out early for double movement but enjoyed the physicality of the contest and made his presence felt. 7

Oliver Partington: Had a role to play in the battle for the centre of the park, got through plenty of work defensively. 7

Tony Clubb: The forward relished the battle through the middle and managed to get himself over the line with some tidy footwork. 7

Liam Byrne: Looked a threat with some strong carries off the bench as he used his size to full effect. 7

Ethan Havard: Most of his good work came defensively as York continued to battle. 7

Joe Shorrocks: The youngster looked strong and showed his versatility by moving into the hooker role. 6
