Wigan Warriors player ratings after toothless defeat against Hull KR

Wigan Warriors suffered a second-straight defeat as their DW homecoming ended with an 18-8 defeat to Hull KR.

Here's how the players got on.

Jackson Hastings - 5: Playing in an unusual position. Did look lively and energetic but couldn't unlock rovers.

Jake Bibby - 5: Carried well and went on a few ventures. Completely out-jumped for Ryan Hall's try.

Willie Isa - 5: Quiet generally on his return to the side.

Oliver Gildart - 7: Started slowly and, understandably, looked rusty. But he eased his way in and ended the game finishing off two tries superbly.

Liam Marshall - 6: Also looked out of practice at times, was typically lively.

Tommy Leuluai - 5: A few textbook hits but didn't offer a great deal with the ball.

Harry Smith - 6: Played a hand in both tries, including a well-weighted kick for the second. Will have wanted to do more with the amount of ball Wigan had, though.

Brad Singleton - 7: Helped get them on the front foot in the opening quarter. In many ways, he did his job by laying the platform. Nobody built on it, though.

Sam Powell - 5: Excluding the odd scramble for the line, was ineffective.

Joe Bullock - 5: A few errors early doors. In truth, he wasn't the only one.

John Bateman - 6: Went on a few of those seeping runs across the field trying to make something happen. Alas, he couldn't.

Liam Farrell - 7: Is he ever poor? Ran great lines, went close several times. In fairness, Hull KR did superbly to deny him on several occasions.

Ollie Partington - 6: Went big and strong early doors and helped dominate the middle early. It just wasn't backed up.

Jake Shorrocks - 6: Tried to get over a couple of times through sheer force. Hull KR defended him well.

Kai Pearce-Paul - 7: A highlight on a dismal night. Did a heap of good things and created chances. Made a costly error for the final try but shouldn't overshadow a promising performance.

Ethan Havard - 5: Maybe guilty of doing work not easy to see on the eye, but not really noticeable.

Liam Byrne - 5: Another who tried but had little impact on the game.
