Wigan Warriors centre Oliver Gildart attracts NRL interest

Oliver Gildart has courted NRL interest, according to reports in Australia.

The Sydney Morning Herald claim that Wests Tigers are planning a double swoop of Wigan after targeting the England and Great Britain international, just weeks after securing a deal for fellow Warriors star Jackson Hastings.

Gildart has never denied interest in pursuing an NRL deal and last year appointed Sam Ayoub, one of the NRL's leading agents, to sort his future business.

The 24-year-old has yet to feature for the Warriors this year but is expected back next month.

He is off-contract at the end of the season and is one of several Super League players being offered to NRL clubs, with St Helens' James Bentley and Warrington's Toby King two other players clubs in the Southern Hemisphere have been made aware of.

When asked about his future earlier this year, Gildart told Rugby League Live: "Contract talks can start later in the year. I'm just giving what I can for Wigan this year, there will be a time when contract talks will start and we can look at things."

Wigan have a number of players off-contract at the end of the year, including Sam Powell, Tommy Leuluai and Dom Manfredi.
