Wigan vs Swansea City prediction, Andre Ayew is man bang in form

Swansea won the big one last Sunday. But can they carry the momentum of a South Wales derby success into a tricky trip to Wigan?

We asked our Swansea City expert Ian Mitchelmore for his verdict.

Win, lose or draw?

Wigan 1-1 Swansea City. The Swans are yet to lose away from home in the league under Steve Cooper, although - aside from against Cardiff - their performance levels have dropped of late. I still fancy them to get a point at the DW Stadium though. 23/10 is also the best price available on thepools.com.

Who’s a good bet for first scorer?

Andre Ayew is a man in top form so I'll go for him. He's 15/2 to score the first goal in the game while his any time scorer price of 14/5 is also attractive.

Who’s on the naughty step?

Jake Bidwell...

Who’s on pens?

Borja Baston has taken Swansea's penalties so far, but given that he's in and out of the starting XI, I'll go for Matt Grimes. He's a hefty 18/1 to score first and 7/1 to score any time.

Will Swansea keep a clean sheet?

Only Middlesbrough have scored fewer goals in the Championship this season than Wigan. But the styles of both sides should make this an open game, so I expect a goal or two. Both Teams To Score is an attractive 4/5 with thepools.com .
