Wife surprises new hubby with spectacular drag performance at their wedding

A couple's wedding ceremony ended with a bang when a wife surprised her new hubby with a performance by a drag queen.

Zara Hare, 33, arranged the performance in secret from her new husband Ben, 29.

Only the bride, her best friend, mum, and mother-in-law knew what was planned after the couple said 'I do'.

Zara, who runs a business selling her own wax melts, said: "Ben's first reaction was just' oh my god'.

"He thought it was hilarious, he absolutely loved it.

"He recognised her straight away from when we'd seen her perform.

"We've been talking about it ever since, it was amazing."

The couple, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, had seen the queen, Sandy Shore's, act while they were on holiday in Gran Canaria, which included her lipsyncing to 'It Should've Been Me' in a wedding dress.

Zara said: "We were engaged when we went to see her perform, so when she came out in a wedding dress it made me think about our wedding.

"I didn't say anything to Ben, it was just something I kept in my head.

"When I found out she was coming back to the UK I asked if she would be up for performing at my wedding.

"It was actually the first private show she's done at a wedding."

For the performance, Sandy donned a wedding dress complete with a fake baby bump made from a helium balloon, which she removed part-way through the song to hit Ben with, which was a surprise to Ben and Zara.

Zara, who booked the performance on Sandy's Facebook page, Sandy Shore Hall, agrees it was definitely the best thing for the moment, as it lifted the spirits of all the guests.

She said: "Everyone was really tearful at first and emotional after the ceremony.

"I think the drag just really lightened everyone up.

"Everyone was happy and laughing by the end, it was great."
