A woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband to death by plunging a knife into his testicles.
The pair are said to have been rowing at the home they shared with the man's uncle and his children in north-eastern Romania.
The family members heard loud shouting coming from the couple's room and when they entered, they reportedly found the 49-year-old man lying face-down on the floor with stab wounds.
The shocked uncle immediately called the emergency services, but the victim had already died by the time the ambulance had arrived, according to local media.
One of the paramedics at the scene, Eduard Durau, said: "The patient was found at his home in cardiac arrest.
"We tried to resuscitate him for 40 minutes, but without success.
"The body had three penetrative wounds in the groin area, in the testicle and the femoral artery."
Police detained the suspect - the man's 45-year-old wife - and took her at the police station for questioning.
The case has been handed over to prosecutors who will establish the exact cause of death.
