Wife fumes as husband plans to give unborn baby 'stupidest name ever'

A woman's husband has been slammed by parents online after she revealed his odd baby name suggestion.

With only a few months until the birth of their first child, the couple have been putting a lot of thought into what they should name their baby boy - it is forever after all.

She explained that since her husband and his parents are "math geniuses" she thought it would be "funny and cute" to have the newborn's name include a "math reference."

But when her husband told her the name he had decided on, she said: "I thought he was joking but he was serious."

She explains: "My husband and I are expecting our first child - a boy - in a couple of months. My husband and his parents are all math geniuses and wanted his name to include some math reference.

"I thought it was a cute and funny idea. Recently, my husband thought of a name. I thought of names too. I like Dylan, Jared and Loren. My husband was like "um, yeah. I was thinking Cube."

"Like a Rubik Cube. I thought he was joking but he was serious.

"I told him that was the stupidest name ever. He told me to think of it as "Cute." I told him I'd rather name him Sweater before Cube."

The mum-to-be took to Reddit to ask for advice, and users were quick to share their opinions.

One person joked: "LOL who names their kid cube, what a block head."

Another said: "When she says her husband and parents are math geniuses I thought they would come up with some name that's like a niche math reference or maybe some reference to a mathematician. But then they just came up with... Cube."

A third commented: "You’d have to travel to the four corners of the world to find a stupider name."

And: "That name will come back and hit him square in the face" said a fourth.

But another suggested: "How about Rube, which sounds like it's short for Ruben, but would be a nod to Rubik. Or for that matter name him Rubik and call him Rube, still a better choice than Cube."
