Wife and children of missing woman Amy Schulkins plead for public help to track her down

The family of missing mother of five Amy Schulkins have made an emotional plea for people to come forward with information that may help find her.

Ms Schulkins, 36, left her Caboolture South home, north of Brisbane, just before 11:00pm on December 30 last year.

Her wife Rebecca Schulkins said the disappearance was completely out of character, and that Amy seemed "a bit off" that night.

Rebecca tearfully appealed for her wife's return.

"I just need to know that you are safe baby, I wonder at night if you are cold, if you are hungry," she said.

Amy's father Allan Schulkins said somebody must have some information.

"We love you and want you home and you always have a place at our home," he said.

She was last seen on CCTV footage driving toward the Bruce Highway and the Bribie Island Interchange, north of Brisbane.

Rebecca said she had noticed a difference in Amy's behaviour.

"She was a bit distant to be honest, she was in a funny mood — something I hadn't seen before in our four-and-a-half years together," she said.

"I said, 'Gee, you are in a weird mood' and she just said she was tired."

Rebecca said they had rarely gone more than a few hours without communicating in the past.

Amy left their home while Rebecca was in the shower, taking only her wallet with her.

A Facebook page dedicated to finding Amy that was set up in early January now has more than 26,000 members.

Detective Senior Constable Michael Amey said Amy's bank accounts have not been accessed since that night and her 2001 Nissan Patrol had not been found.

She visited two other houses that evening — one in Burpengary and one in Caboolture South.

Amy is described as 160 centimetres tall, having a larger build, with spiky brown hair and blue eyes.

The couple's five children range in age from ages 6 to 15.
