Lorena Wiebes from the Netherlands won her second consecutive stage at the 2026 Women's Tour de France on Sunday to set a record of seven stage victories in the five-year-old race.
The 27-year-old burst clear of the pack with 250m remaining of the 147.9km course to take glory.
She completed the second stage between Aigle and Geneva in three hours, 42 minutes and eight seconds.
Elisa Balsamo was second and Marianne Vos was third. The defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot finished the second stage in 38th place to lie ninth overall, 20 seconds behind Wiebes.
The end of the stage was tough on Riejanne Markus who led the race alone over the final 39 kilometres before she was reeled in just half a kilometre from the finishing line.
"The girls were chasing full, full gas in the final to bring back Riejanne so it's even more beautiful to finish it off in the yellow jersey."

"We were chasing all day," Wiebes added. "In the end I managed to get a clear run and gave it all over the last 250m. I knew that it was up to me to find my own way.
"Winning in yellow makes it for sure special but also because, again, our team worked really hard for it," Wiebes said.
Wiebes, who rides for the Dutch stable Team SD Worx-Protime, won the first stage of the 2026 competition on Saturday.
To reach her record-breaking feat, Wiebes won the first stage of the inaugural Women's Tour de France in 2022. She also took the fifth stage in Bar-le-Duc before crashing out of the race.
There was one stage victory in the 2023 race and two more stage triumphs followed in last year's race before the latest successes.
Entry into France
As race leader, she will take a 14 second lead over Kim Le court Pienaar into Monday's third stage of 156.5km between Geneva and Poligny in south-eastern France.
