Widowed otters find ‘fairytale love story’ during lockdown

Harris was moved from Gweek in Cornwall to Sea Life Scarborough to be with Pumpkin (Picture: SEA LIFE SCARBOROUGH)

A pair of otters have found a "fairytale love story" under lockdown after losing their former partners.

Harris and Pumpkin met at Sea Life Scarborough.

Pumpkin was lonely after her partner Eric passed away and the sanctuary decided to reach out to other otter sanctuaries to find her a partner.

Harris, who lost his partner four years ago, was moved from the Cornish Seal Sanctuary to meet her.

It was called "the perfect fairytale ending" by Tamara Cooper, curator at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary.

Todd German, a curator at Sea Life said: "We are delighted to report that not only is Pumpkin happy once again, but Harris has settled in extremely well."

The otters have moved into a new home together, where visitors will be able to see them.
