Randy Moss started his career strong with the Vikings, but that didn’t stop the team from trading him.
He had at least 1,000 receiving yards in all but one of his NFL seasons in his first stint with Minnesota. The Vikings gave him to the Raiders in exchange for linebacker Napoleon Harris, a first-round pick and a seventh-round pick.
The Vikings used Oakland’s first-round pick to draft wide receiver Troy Williamson. It’s safe to say Williamson was not the wide receiver Moss was.
Bleacher Report thinks Moss was a player the Vikings got rid of too soon. Here’s what the outlet said about the choice:
“Ultimately, the Vikings traded Moss to the Raiders, where the receiver clearly wasn’t happy and didn’t give his best effort.
Even so, a career revival happened upon Moss’ arrival to the New England Patriots. The six-time Pro Bowler posted arguably the finest season of his career in 2007, when he and Tom Brady smashed passing records, including the all-time touchdown receptions mark (23) in a single season.”
Bleacher Report also mentioned how Minnesota orchestrated a return for Moss in 2010, but you don’t have to tell Vikings fans that Moss’ second stint with the team was very different.
