Wide receiver Josh Gordon ready to go for Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks will have a new wide receiver to evaluate at practice this week when Josh Gordon takes the field. Seattle claimed Gordon off waivers last Friday and he has now passed his physical and is ready to get down to business.

“Yeah, he’s been cleared to go, he’s ready to go,” coach Pete Carroll said Monday. “On Thursday, when we get rolling again, he’ll be going. He’s in the building studying and all that getting ready. We’ll see how it goes.”

With a Monday night game scheduled Week 10, the players have Tuesday and Wednesday off before resuming practice, leaving Gordon just three days to adjust to the Seahawks’ game plan. Carroll isn’t making any promises on Gordon just yet.

“I’m telling you, I’m just waiting to see,” he said. “I’ve seen him on film. He looks pretty special. He has a good history of making plays and all that. I want to see him when he mixes with our guys and really just take it one step at a time with no expectations on how much he would contribute or play or whatever. I’m just going to see what happens.”

Seattle is set to square off against San Francisco Monday night in its most anticipated game of the year thus far. The unbeaten 49ers will look to keep control of the division when the Seahawks come to town but Gordon could be the one to throw the wrench in their game plans.
