Wide receiver Josh Gordon practiced Wednesday with the Browns for the first time since Aug. 31, 2016, when he participated in a walk through before the preseason finale.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Gordon on a conditional basis Nov. 1. Under the terms of Gordon's reinstatement, the 2013 All-Pro wide receiver became eligible to return to practice this week.
During Gordon's first practice in 448 days, he ran routes and caught passes with the other receivers during the 20-minute portion open to media.
Gordon, 26, has been suspended for the past 43 games and 53 of the past 58 because of several violations of the league's substance-abuse policy. He reunited with the Browns on Nov. 7.
If all goes well with Gordon, he'll be eligible to play in the final five games of the season beginning Dec. 3 on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers. He hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since Dec. 21, 2014. His last practice during the regular season was Dec. 26, 2014.
