TAMPA, Fla. _ Receiver Chris Godwin was not on the field for Thursday's Bucs practice session open to media, a major sign that he's unlikely to play in Sunday's season finale against the Falcons.
Godwin injured a hamstring Dec. 15 against the Lions and hasn't practiced since, but the Bucs held off placing him on injured reserve hoping he might be able to return before the season's end.
Now Godwin's breakout season will likely end with him missing the final two games of the season.
Godwin _ who still ranks second in the league in receiving yards (1,313) and is tied for third in receiving touchdowns (nine) _ was named this month to his first career Pro Bowl, which will be played Jan. 26 in Orlando.
