Wicklow restaurant worker's brilliant reaction after serving movie stars Florence Pugh and Jack Reynor

Florence Pugh arrived in Hollywood, Co. Wicklow this week as filming began on her latest project, The Wonder, a Netflix adaptation of Emma Donoghue's 2016 novel.

The film is a psychological thriller set in a small Irish village seven years after the Great Famine.

Pugh showed her delight at the village as she shared a snap of the famous Hollywood sign standing in the hills of the idyllic countryside.

She captioned the post: “Less traffic, greener hills, great Guinness. A different kind of Hollywood..”

The actor met up with her friend Jack Reynor, who lives in the area, and the pair enjoyed lunch together along with some friends in the local restaurant and pub, the Hollywood Inn.

Gemma Lenehan, a waiter in the popular Inn, said she served the pair on the day but didn't realise who Reynor's guest was at the time.

She said: "She came in with Jack Reynor, and they had really English accents. There was two of them. One said she was from Oxford and the other one was from Kent.

"I remember looking at her and thinking, oh she's really pretty, she looks really similar to Florence Pugh. But I didn't think anything else of it because she's in a big movie soon, so I was like, it's hardly her.

"She was really lovely, and they stacked up all the plates for me and everything, which was really nice and when I got home from work, my friend sent me a screenshot of what Florence put on her Instagram, and I was like, oh that was definitely her because she put up the Hollywood sign on her Instagram.

“Then I kind of thought and realised that her and Jack Reynor were in Midsommar together, so they obviously would be friends, so it would make a lot of sense that she would be with him."

The pair filmed Midsommar together in 2019, so Reynor made for the perfect tour guide to show Pugh the best of the West Wicklow countryside.

Wicklow has been home to many film sets over the years, and Hollywood village has seen its fair share of stars with films such as Michael Collins, starring Liam Neeson and Julia Roberts, and King Arthur starring Ray Winstone all set in the village.

Florence Pugh has been sharing her time in Ireland with her fans online, so keep your eyes peeled for her next update.
