Wicklow GAA condemn behaviour as ugly sideline brawl breaks out at underage match

Wicklow GAA have condemned the behaviour of a group of people involved in an ugly sideline brawl at a club match on Saturday.

A video of the shocking scenes at an underage football match has been widely shared on social media.

It shows a large number of spectators involved in a series of melees with punches thrown. There is no suggestion the players were involved in the altercation.

A statement from Wicklow GAA on Saturday evening said: "Wicklow GAA are aware of reports of totally unacceptable behaviour from a number of people at a game today.

"Wicklow GAA strongly condemns all such behaviour, the CCC [Competitions Control Committee] will be investigating the incident fully and strong disciplinary action taken."

The Irish Mirror have contacted Garda Siochana and they confirmed that they were not called to the scene.
