Netflix has scrapped Netflix fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga, which was filmed in Bray in County Wicklow.
Although the second season of the hit series ended on a cliff-hanger, showrunner Brian Young broke the news of the hit show's cancellation to fans on Instagram. He wrote: "This is not fun news to share, but Netflix have decided not to move forward with season three of Fate: The Winx Saga."
The show's first season was filmed in Wicklow and the second season was completed in 2021. Fate: The Winx Saga follows fairies who attend a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their magical powers while facing monsters that threaten their existence.

In his statement on social media, Brian added: "This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It's a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same.
"I’m so proud of everyone who worked on the show, and so happy we got to tell the stories we did. Our cast and crew put in a ton of hard work creating this world and these characters.
"I'm grateful for each and every one of them, and for all of you for watching. It's been an amazing four years. Hopefully we'll see each other again in the future."
Fate: The Winx Saga had appeared in Netflix's most-watched charts over its two seasons. The series was a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon series Winx Club by Iginio Straffi.
Kilruddy House in Bray was used as the exterior for the school the character attended while other Wicklow locations used for filming included Bray Head, the Powerscourt Estate and Avoca. Meanwhile, interior scenes were filmed at Bray’s Ardmore Studios.
