Why Wolves v Arsenal kicks off at 7.45pm tonight

Arsenal head to Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday evening.

It is the last game for both sides before the Premier League pauses for the World Cup.

There is a packed schedule on Saturday, with Manchester City and Brentford facing each other in the early kick-off, five games taking place at 3pm and Newcastle United hosting Chelsea at 5.30pm.

And Wolves v Arsenal completes the day in the usunsual Saturday 7.45pm slot. With only two games on Sunday, it has sparked a few questions.

The reason for the late Saturday night scheduling is because of boths teams' involvement in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday.

Arsenal lost to Brighton 3-1, while Wolves saw off Leeds United 1-0. The delaying of Saturday's game has enabled the league to accommodate their quick turnaround, according to MailOnline.

The Gunners are in fine form and top the Premier League standings, while struggling Wolves will have their new manager Julen Lopetegui watching on in the stands before he takes the reins.

The World Cup kicks off next Sunday, with hosts Qatar facing Ecuador in the opening match.
