- BBC Radio 2 breakfast host Scott Mills was sacked by the corporation following ‘historic allegations’ concerning his personal conduct.
- The BBC confirmed that Mills is no longer contracted and has departed the organisation, and it has been reported the sacking was linked to conduct from more than 10 years ago.
- Mills, 53, who took over the breakfast show from Zoe Ball last year, was last on air on Tuesday. Mills was reportedly told this weekend that his contract with the BBC had been terminated.
- Veteran DJ Gary Davies replaced Mills on the breakfast show from Wednesday onwards.
- Lorna Clarke, BBC director of music, informed staff via email, stating the news was "sudden and unexpected".
