Viktor Gyokeres will play no part of Sweden’s international friendlies, it has been confirmed.
The Sporting CP striker, who is reportedly subject of interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, has been granted permission to withdraw from Jon Dahl Tomasson's squad for games against Hungary and Algeria because of injury.
A statement reads: “Viktor Gyokeres is not available for the men's national team's friendlies against Hungary and Algeria due to a minor injury.
“The striker will leave the squad after dialogue with the national team's medical team.
“The men's national team is gathered in and is conducting training on Bosön during the days.
“Viktor Gyokeres, however, needs to rehabilitate a minor injury and is therefore not available for the upcoming international matches against Hungary and Algeria.
“In consultation with the medical team, the decision has been made that Viktor will leave the national team. The men's national team will face Hungary on June 6th away and Algeria at Strawberry Arena on June 10th.”

The extent of Gyokeres’ injury has not been disclosed, but he did have a thigh issue at the beginning of the year that saw him miss Sporting’s Champions League clash against Bologna as well as the league showdown with Farense.
As the 27-year-old focuses on making a swift recovery, speculation over his future rumbles on as he is expected to leave Sporting this summer following an outstanding season where he netted 54 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions.
A move to Arsenal has been heavily touted, though Gyokeres insists there has still been no decision made on his club future.
