Why two helicopters were hovering over part of Swansea in the early hours of the morning

Multiple helicopters and a life boat crew were involved in the search for a missing man in Swansea.

In the early hours of October 7, police and coastguard helicopters were hovering between Langland and Caswell and an RNLI crew from Mumbles lifeboat station joined the search.

The multi-agency search team were looking for a missing man in the area between Langland and Caswell.

HM Coastguard Mumbles were paged at 4.26am to join in the search.

The coastguard and RNLI lifeboat were called to assist South Wales Police in locating the missing male.

A helicopter from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) was also part of the search efforts.

A spokesman from HM Coastguard Mumbles said the casualty was "located safe and well" at Rotherslade Bay by and the search helicopters were stood down.

He added: "Mumbles RNLI, Coastguard team and NPAS 47 joined South Wales Police to location a missing male.

"He was located safe and well and all units were stood down."
