Why Twitter changed their header to Liverpool stars Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino

Neutrals all around the UK are deciding whether they are backing Liverpool or Manchester City for the Premier League title.

For Manchester United fans it is a lose-lose situation, for Evertonians there is only one choice and if you support anyone else you probably have a preference.

Even social media channels are picking between the two sides - or so it seems.

Twitter appear to have pinned the Liverpool red colour to their mast after putting a picture of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino celebrating the Reds' last gasp winner against Tottenham .

But not all is as it seems.

The official Twitter account, unoriginally boasting the handle @Twitter, tweeted a "Truth or Dare?" message to their 56million followers.

Almost 6,000 people replied, amongst them was FIFA Youtuber Highlight risked a "dare".

Twitter hit back quickly and brutally to the Liverpool fan: "Change your header to a pic of Everton ."

Highlight, with his tail between his legs, found a picture of the Toffees' badge and placed it as his profile picture.

Liverpool's USA account replied "Oh no" as Highlight proclaimed his love for Jurgen Klopp's men.

"I'm soooo sorry, but I chose dare... You all are my one true love, never forget that," the gamer said.

Twitter, feeling sorry for their victim, then changed their header to Salah celebrating in front of the Kop after Toby Alderweireld had put through his own goal.

"Under the circumstances, the least we could do," Twitter added.

The Reds are currently top of the Premier League as they lead City by two points with six matches still to play - although Pep Guardiola's stars have a game in hand.
