Edge Hill University's Faculty of Education has been at the forefront of teacher training for almost 130 years.
Edge Hill College opened in Liverpool in 1885 as the first non-denominational teacher training college for women. From its origins as a specialist institution with 41 female trainee teachers, Edge Hill now has 26,000 students on a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
All of our programmes have at their core a focus on career progression and the development of highly skilled reflective practitioners. We have a comprehensive portfolio of programmes to ensure that we meet the individual needs of all students and employers.
Our programmes are practice-based and impact driven and fundamental to this is strong collaboration and working with schools and colleges as joint and equal partners.
We work with each student to enhance their skills, knowledge and understanding through the education and training that they have undertaken.
There are almost 50 undergraduate and postgraduate routes into teaching for all ages at Edge Hill University, for more information on our courses, visit http://www.edgehill.ac.uk/study/.
