Why Tottenham fans were clapping after six minutes during Norwich City Premier League clash

Tottenham Hotspur fans paid tribute to murdered schoolboy Arthur Labinjo-Hughes during their Premier League clash against Norwich City.

Arthur was just six-years-old when he was tragically killed, dying of an "unsurvivable" brain injury following a campaign of abuse from Emma Tustin and his father, Thomas Hughes last year.

The couple were then sentenced for murder and manslaughter respectively at Coventry Crown Court on Friday as Tustin was jailed for life with a minimum sentence of 29 years whilst Hughes was sentenced to 21 years.

Football fans across the country paid tribute to Birmingham City fan Arthur on Saturday as the Blues' players wore "Arthur we love you" T-shirts ahead of their Championship clash against Milwall.

Lee Bowyer's side also carried a banner that included his picture whilst Chelsea and West Ham projected an image of the youngster before the match at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Coventry City fans took part in a sixth-minute applause during their match against West Brom, as supporters did the same during Newcastle United's match against Burnley as well as Liverpool's game against Wolves.

Now, fans were seen paying tribute during Spurs' Premier League fixture against Norwich City as a similar applause in the sixth minute took place.

Arthur's uncle, Daniel, posted a video on his Twitter account as he shared his dreams to play for the Lilywhites, as well as Liverpool and England.

Daniel Hughes shared it saying: "Remember him like this please."

The north London club also displayed an image of Arthur wearing a Birmingham shirt captioned 'you are loved' during the applause.
