Why Tottenham do not need to rush to complete Joe Rodon transfer by 11pm deadline

Tottenham are said to be eyeing a move for Swansea City defender Joe Rodon.

Jose Mourinho was tipped to make a late move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, but it seems that is no longer the plan.

Instead, Spurs are said to be lining up a move for Wales international Rodon, but time is running out with the transfer window deadline at 11pm.

Thankfully, Tottenham don't need to worry about that.

That's because there is a domestic window that runs for 11 days beyond the normal window.

Transfer Deadline Day - deals from around the league so far

The domestic window will allow EFL clubs to do deals with each other and it will also allow Premier League clubs to sign players from the divisions below.

Premier League clubs won't be allowed to buy from each other but, of course, that doesn't concern Tottenham here.

They are looking to sign Rodon from Championship outfit Swansea and with the domestic deadline not until October 16, there is no real rush to get the deal over the line.

Though, there is a European deadline Spurs are worried about with players participating in the Europa League needing to be registered by the end of today.
