Why Tiger Woods' stunning Masters win should excite Tottenham fans

Tiger Woods completed a stunning comeback on Sunday afternoon.

The American secured his first major victory in 11 years by winning the Masters in incredible fashion.

Woods, one of the greatest golfers to have lived, was never expected to return to the top of the sport, following a string of personal problems and injuries.

The 43-year-old thought his career was over in 2017, following a two-year spell out with a back injury.

Arsenal, Spurs and Man United handed top four boost as Chelsea suffer huge injury scare

But he fought his way back to the top and 11 years after his last major victory in 2008, he put the icing on the cake of his comeback with a sensational win at the Masters at Augusta.

And Tottenham supporters should be very excited, if omens and sporting patterns are something that you believe in.

The last time Woods won a major was in 2008 - which just so happens to be the last time Tottenham won a trophy.

It was the US Open that Woods claimed in 2008, which many thought would be his last. And that same year Spurs won the League Cup.

Spurs have not won a trophy since then and they do still have an opportunity to win a piece of silverware this year and it would be the biggest one of all - the Champions League.
