THIS ancient and "enchanting" woodland in Scotland could be the most magical found anywhere in the country.
Located in the West Highlands, Ariundle Oakwood is said to be a "precious fragment" of a once more common ecosystem.
Because of the diversity of greenery flourishing here, such as mosses, lichens and liverworts, the location has been dubbed a "wonderful example of Scotland's rainforest".

Forest and Land Scotland highlights the more whimsical elements of the woodland, paying particular focus to Fairy Walk which runs alongside the Strontian River.
The location in Scotland, which is said to "sparkle" in the winter months, is a "very special" place, according to the organisation.
It added that it is "one of the richest surviving fragments" of rainforests that are restricted to the Atlantic seaboard in places like Ireland and Norway.
Beyond the "treasure house" of primitive plants and "stunning" scenery, visitors can also catch a glimpse of "elusive" residents like pine martens, otters and wildcats if they are lucky enough, according to Visit Scotland.

A second user added: "Wonderful walk into historic woods with nearby babbling brook. There is a lot of roughly hewn clearfell which takes the edge off, sort of."
Another said: "This place is just fantastic! Totally out of the way, peaceful and absolutely stunning. Lots of gorgeous trails and very suitable for young kids. Def want to return when it's warmer to bathe in the pools."
They jokingly advised: "Please don't come here as we'd love to keep it to ourselves."
