Why things could get more complicated for the Steelers after their first loss

John Wooden liked to say that “Success is never final, and failure is never fatal.” Good words for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who not only fell from the pantheon of the undefeated on Monday afternoon, but did so against a Washington Football Team that came into the game with a 4-7 record, and a 1-4 mark away from home.

That 23-17 loss, coming as it did after the Steelers put up a 14-0 second-quarter lead, might not just be a fluke. Yes, Mike Tomlin’s team still has a greased road to the playoffs at 11-1, but just how well is the team faring overall right now, and what are the concerns going forward. Based on what we see, this first loss could very well not be the only one, and things could change quickly.
