Why the Reds’ ‘slow start’ is a myth, an unhappy Shaqiri and could VAR play a part against Arsenal

Liverpool welcome Arsenal to Anfield on Saturday, yet to have VAR intervene in either of their two Premier League games so far this season, but could that be set to change.

In the latest episode of Poetry in Motion, on our Blood Red podcast channel , Neil Fitzmaurice is joined by Joe Rimmer and Theo Squires to discussing the latest talking points around the Reds.

Included in their analysis is whether or not Jurgen Klopp’s side really are suffering from a ‘slow start’ to the season, despite winning both of their Premier League games as well as the UEFA Super Cup.

With no major summer arrivals, there’s still room for transfer talk with Xherdan Shaqiri this week having revealed his discontent at a lack of first team opportunities.

Getting onto the weekend’s action and the panel also talk through the similarities between Arsenal and Liverpool before assessing the threats posed by the Gunners’ frontline.

Plus there’s also discussions on the Reds’ latest stadium plans, as the club ponder what next in their aims to redevelop the Anfield Road end of the stadium.

Enjoy.
