Why team of fire engines has descended on street near Bristol city centre

Three fire engines were called this afternoon to a building near Bristol city centre.

A witness saw firefighters rushing into a building in Cumberland Street at 4.10pm today (December 1).

Also on the scene, where Cumberland Street meets Upper York Street, were three fire engines with emergency lights on.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "It was a call to a fire alarm that had gone off. There wasn't a fire."
