Why Tanguy Ndombele looked very different to his Tottenham team-mates ahead of Bournemouth clash

There something that made Tanguy Ndombele stand out during the Tottenham Hotspur players' warm-up at Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old French midfielder was among the substitutes once again for Spurs' trip to the south coast.

Ahead of kick-off, both sides took to the turf at the Vitality Stadium to be put through their paces in the warm-up.

Mourinho on developing youth in the race for Europe

Ndombele was as usual wearing his beanie hat, a constant for him in all weathers for the France international.

However it was what he was wearing that also set him apart from his team-mates.

Every other member of the Spurs squad was wearing their navy and light blue training gear, which goes with their light blue retro third kit, but Ndombele had opted for something completely different.

He was wearing full grey attire, with light blue logos, that certainly made him stand out in the crowd.

While the reason for the midfielder wearing very different training gear is unclear, it did give him the look of the new kid in class who hadn't been given his school PE kit yet but was told to join in.

When he emerged during the match to sit in the stands, in the makeshift socially distanced 'benches', Ndombele was in the same navy and light blue attire as his team-mates.

He had either changed or perhaps it was simply underneath all along and he was just double-layered up against the south coast winds.
