Why is Swansea City vs Leeds United no longer being shown live on Sky Sports?

Swansea City's Championship clash with Leeds United will no longer be shown live on Sky Sports.

Last week, it was announced that the fixture was set to be shown live by the EFL's official broadcast partner, with Marcelo Bielsa's men closing in on the league title.

However, it has since been confirmed that the match will no longer be screened live by Sky.

They will instead be showing Stoke City's clash with BIrmingham City at the bet365 Stadium on Sunday, July 12.

It's understood Sky bosses are only able to show a certain number of a club's matches during the course of the campaign, and with the Whites being regulars on TV this term, they appear to be holding their next Leeds pick for a later date in a bid to be able to capture their seemingly inevitable promotion.

It means Swansea will miss out on a broadcast fee of £50,000.

As a result, the game against Leeds now available to UK and international viewers live on SwansTV.

The Whites' Championship fixture against Barnsley at Elland Road has since been selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports, with that game taking place a day later than originally scheduled.

Kick-off between Swansea and Leeds is still at 1:30pm on Sunday.
