Why Strathclyde University is lit up in blue and pink this week

If you've been wandering about the city centre recently, or have enrolled to begin a new course at Uni, you'll have noticed the buildings at Strathclyde University are lit up.

Buildings in the area are illuminated in blue and pink this week - and it's actually for a lovely yet bittersweet cause.

University bosses have decided to light up the buildings to remember children who have died and their parents who have lost kids.

It is currently Baby Loss Awareness Week, and the University posted to their social medias that the buildings will be lit to "remember those loved and lost babies".

The Uni wrote on Instagram: "This  #BabyLossAwarenessWeek, we are lighting up our campus buildings in pink and blue to remember those loved and lost babies who have been taken far too soon.

"Let's break the silence around the taboo of baby loss."
