Harry Kane has said that 'we can only do what we can' in reference to eight European captains wearing armbands with a 'OneLove' slogan on them as a stand against discriminatory laws in Qatar.
The World Cup is set to begin in Qatar in November, and this week further news has emerged surrounding human rights abuses in the country. The Guardian have revealed further alleged mistreatment of migrant workers with all 32 teams set to compete in the tournament which gets underway in just two months' time.
Kane has revealed that he has discussed the issue with Denmark's Christian Eriksen as well as France captain and Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris, and that he will be joining in making the gesture along with nine other representatives from UEFA.

He will wear the armband for the first time against Italy on Friday night, along with the captains of Wales, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. However, there has been talk that the gesture is yet to be approved by FIFA, with Qatar 'deeply unimpressed', as reported by the Daily Mail.
Kane revealed that he felt there was not much to be done in protest ahead of the tournament after months of talks had taken place regarding an appropriate gesture. Speaking to assembled media ahead of England's crucial Nations League fixture in Italy on Friday night, the England captain explained his position.
He said: "I had a discussion with Christian (Eriksen), obviously he's not the captain of Denmark but me and Christian had spoken and obviously Hugo (Lloris) at Spurs."
"It's about coming together and I think being together sends a bigger message rather than people doing individual stuff," he added. "I think there's only so much the players can actually do, but I think that by wearing the armband on the biggest stage in the world and one of the most televised events in the world, will have an impact.
"We can only do what we can and I think we have definitely taken a step forward to help some of the issues out there in Qatar."
