With the 64th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected Ole Miss wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.
Metcalf fell surprisingly far in the draft, but he has insane upside at the wide receiver position. He is a lengthy, stocky and insanely muscular player at six-foot-three and 228 pounds. His 4.33 40-yard dash time at the Combine was incredible, and his upside as a deep threat is palpable. Metcalf can also make circus catches and make snags in tight windows.
Though he has durability and mobility issues, his size, speed and strength combination gives him a lot of potential.
The Seahawks form an talented trio at wide receiver with Metcalf, Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. With this group surrounding Russell Wilson, Seattle’s offense could gear them towards playoff contention next year.
